No more NOOB
No offence to you persistant Noob callers but can it please stop. Does it make people feel good to shout it at people? Does it achieve anything? Most of the time I hear it blurted out the person shouting it is generally an arse anyway. We all were one point noobs so get over it. If its not going your way keep on trying dont start shouting obsenities at everyone else before leaving. I have dragged some pretty dodgy groups through some tough times in missions and made sure they all learnt something from it!
People make mistakes get over it and people have got to learn so help them. My good friend is actually a dev (not for anet though) and he thinks its retarded to do such things. Noobs are not the problem its elitest idiots who take things too seriously.
(I know my grammas bad not to mention my spelling so if it'll make you feel better lord it over me I am in awe of your spelling and gramatic supremacy)

What would you prefer?
'You arrogant clueless imbecile that won't listen to directions and keep aggroing the entire map while telling everyone else in 1337 that their builds suck!'
Doesn't really roll off the tongue...

yeah but if its that long perhaps people wouldnt say it! My point is that being offencive doesnt help. If I replied toy your post with thats a ----ing retarded piece of ---t you wrote there nothing would be achieved. The point is you can shout stop agro everything pull them back then direct on the map pick one group at a time. They'll learn trust me
And perhaps if people stopped spamming noob every 5 seconds the game wouldnt lag as often

Being A Dev doesnt make his opinion any more revelant
Afraid the words here to stay, and the most "relevant" use is for people who need a serious attitude ajustment (i.e, the warrior who uses healing sig+Frenzy at the same time when at 20% health, and doesnt listen to reason when you explain why that is a bad idea, and then calls your names, or the mesmer who tells me to F* off because ive told him backfire really doesnt have any affect on mino's)
Noob doesnt mean new player, that would be Nub, or Newb
If you have been called it, ask yourself why, prehaps it is somthing you might have doen wrong, prehaps the person calling you it was an idiot

Lets try to look at this at a positive perspective. With the existance and useage of this word employed by 133t5p34k3rs and the like, you can quickly tell apart which persons you would not be your life long friends or those you like to party or be in a guild with.
BFs4ever FTW!!

I personally believe that in the majority of cases that I’ve seen the word used that it reflects more on the user than the intended recipient.

Maybe if people held of calling people noob until theyve tried to educate them then NooB to your hearts content. Imagine life though if everytime you tried to learn something instead of getting help from your team mates they all just stood there pointing and calling you noob? Or if you tried to read up on it and ask qustions they all conitnued to point and shout noob. I may be no elite speaker although I did think it was typing but I imagine you all recieved help with something along the way.
Yes I have been called a noob, perhaps I am one but it always seems to be the lack of communication in PUGs that creates an apparent noob. Its funy that I get called noob when I run people for free and give away max damage weapons. Its free ffs be gracious.

People get a thrill from calling people nOObs etc and it makes them feel good to look down their noses at others. Sometimes its justified to call someone a nOOb, but mostly not.
People who call everyone a nOOb are typicaly scumbags...dont try to reason with them.

People just use it for whatever.
I was called a noob the other day because I was selling tanned for 10gp.

Being called a noob in PuG and suffer a rage quit isnt half as bad as having someone who call you a poor noobie after a failied haggle in trading prices and places you on ingore while still continuing to pm you a variation of lesser known uses for your mom...

The server ph34rs the word Noob!
Anyways, to the OP, in Guild Wars, noob doesn't mean newbie anymore. Noob actually means an annoying idiot/imbecile/actually, a combination of both/actually, they're just about the same - x10 (to the power of n).

bah, you are all noobs. nüb is the cool way to say it.
I personally hate the word, it's really annoying being called a noob when I go to RA with my Boon Prot, and get called it by a premade W/Mo who killed me with the help of his 2 Edenial friends. Hence why I don't go there. Everyone is an elitist, and if they kill someone, or die, everyone is a noob.

I think that most people who use the word "noob" are a pretty maladjusted group; they're the ones who bail at the first sign of trouble. I think it fills some deep-seeded need to be bullies, when in fact, they're often the "noobs".
Chances are, they don't know how to handle challenges, or when things get bad on missions/quests. It's easy to be anonymous in this game, and put people down, unfortunately, but those are the people you can recognize as not being good team players for anything.

Or maybe the targeted people really are noobs, and we're tired of dealing with them everywhere we go?

Case and point, right there. And well said, I might add.
Though, as always, I must say the continued confusion of the terms "noob" and "newb" still astounds me...
